There is a wedding blessed by the entire server. It's Tree of Savior: Neverland, a mobile MMORPG. Form a bond here, and you can hold the Tree Bonding Ceremony with the blessing of players from every server.

The name is the 'Tree Bonding Ceremony.' Players just call it a wedding.

The official store description even carries a world channel chat quote: "Wow, what a wedding that had me crying my eyes out, and the knight order folks all came to celebrate too." There's a reason the publisher puts it forward as a signature feature.

A single wedding makes the whole server buzz, and that's a bigger event than you'd think. Even if you start solo, this game is built so that bonds are bound to form.

It's a way to meet that world again on mobile. Kim Hak-kyu oversaw the art, and Motoi Sakuraba handled the music. The art and music alone set a romantic mood. A game like this can't go without bond content.

It's a mobile MMORPG. You adventure in a wide world, there are guilds, and there is cross-server content too. Downloads on the Korean Google Play store are 500,000+.

And you can play it in Korea too. Korean is supported, and it is officially available on the Korean store.

How Do You Hold the Tree Bonding Ceremony?

✦ Tree Bonding Ceremony

From conditions to the garden

1Meet the conditions
Certain conditions have to be met first
2Apply together
Two people who have met them apply as a pair
3Celebration parade
Starts once the ceremony begins
4Shared garden
The two tend a garden together

Not just anyone can hold it. You have to meet certain conditions first. When two people who've met them apply together, you can hold the ceremony with the blessing of every server. While meeting the conditions, you can't help but grow close to your guildmates.

Then one day the thought comes: 'Shall I hold the ceremony with this person?' It feels like the game gives bonds a push.

Once the ceremony starts, a celebration parade begins. The whole server is in a festive buzz. People who usually adventure on their own gather in one place to celebrate. It's the kind of mood where your heart flutters even though it's not your wedding.

As the parade passes, the chat window fills with congratulations. It's a ceremony of people you've never met, and everyone celebrates together anyway. That's the charm of online games: being happy together for a stranger's happiness.

Where else would you experience that, if not in a game?

The two who held the ceremony can tend a shared garden together. You build memories by tending the garden and decorating the house together. The ceremony is a beginning, not an end. You meet every day in the garden you decorated together.

It gives you one more reason to log in. You become people who run into each other in the same garden every day. Having someone who greets you every time you log in might be the biggest gift this bond system gives.

A Structure Where You Meet Because You Need Each Other

This game has life jobs too. You can make legendary dishes and make use of potions. Since everyone is good at different things, it seems you naturally end up looking for each other.

It's a structure where it's easy to grow close while forming parties and enjoying cooking content. You don't meet through combat but get tangled up through daily life. It's not strange that bonds sprout from places like this.

Today you ask a stranger for a favor, and tomorrow you're someone who goes to a dungeon with that person. That's how relationships in games get made. At first they're a trading partner, and later a comrade.

The moment the way you address them changes is the start of a bond. It seems like nothing, but small changes like these pile up and become a relationship. If anything remains after the game ends, it may be relationships like this.

✦ Ways to Meet People

How strangers connect

✔ World channel chat: Chat and grow close
✔ Guild (knight order): See each other every day
✔ Cross-server content: Mingle with players from other servers
✔ Life jobs: Legendary dishes and potions bring people together

The ways to meet strangers are laid down as basics too. You chat in the world channel and grow close, and once you join a guild (the knight order), you see each other's faces every day. If it's hard to start a conversation, join a guild first.

Just being in the same guild loosens people's tongues. In cross-server content you can mingle with people from other servers too. Even with different servers you can meet, so the range of bonds widens that much.

The more people you can meet, the greater the chance of a bond. It's fine to start light. Games are where light encounters lead to deep bonds. It's okay to start casually. Bonds aren't something you force anyway.

✦ Second Anniversary Festival

What is running now

Animal transformation party
• Players turned into ducks and penguins
• Roamed the royal castle
Minigames (3)
• Fun Hide-and-Seek
• Autumn Field Treasure Hunt
• Boss Hunt
Garden building festival
• Pick floors, walls, doors, and windows
• Share your house in the Creative Workshop for likes

Now, at its second anniversary, the mood is festive. At the animal transformation party, players turned into ducks and penguins and roamed the royal castle. They say three kinds of minigames are running too.

'Fun Hide-and-Seek,' 'Autumn Field Treasure Hunt,' 'Boss Hunt.' A garden building festival is on as well, where you can pick everything from floors to walls, doors, and windows to build a house.

You can share the house you built to the Creative Workshop and get 'likes' from players of every server. Even newcomers get swept up in the festival mood and end up mingling. The festival becomes a place for bonds.

If you missed the second anniversary this year, you could aim for the next festival.

The rating is in the 4.7 range on the App Store. Not bad, right?

✦ How Bonds Form Here

Three pieces of the structure

Blessing of every server
Tree Bonding Ceremony and a celebration parade
A garden for two
The couple tends a shared garden together
Jobs you need from each other
Life jobs tangle people up naturally

A game where you hold the Tree Bonding Ceremony with the blessing of every server. A game where you tend a garden meant for just the two of you. A game where you get tangled up through jobs you need from each other.

Tree of Savior: Neverland is a game with that kind of structure for bonds. Even if you start alone, under the tree you're no longer alone. No one knows whether a bond made in a game becomes real.

But the experience of sharing your heart with someone inside a game is surely real.

If you're curious, start under the tree. It will probably be fun.

That's all for this post. See you next time.
