Lost Ark Wedding Stories: 'Raid Teacher' to Life Partner

A warm illustration of a Mokoko and a Sorceress couple standing together in Arkesia

Mokoko and the Raid Teacher

A brand-new Mokoko Artist character was working through the story in Luterra when they ran into a Sorceress.

The other player spoke first, saying, “Looks like you're new to Lost Ark—want to do the story together?” From there, the two cleared dungeons one by one, side by side.

After each dungeon, the Sorceress waited at the entrance, and they pushed on to the next stretch together. After 3 to 4 hours like that, they added each other to their friend lists.

✦ Good to Know

What is a Mokoko?

A Mokoko is originally the name of a seed you collect in Lost Ark (the Mokoko Seed), but it's also used as a nickname for players who've just started. It's what other games would call a “newbie.”

Later, the Mokoko Artist learned that the Sorceress's main character was a Bard. The Sorceress was an alt, it turned out.

The Bard became a teacher for the Mokoko Artist, who barely knew the game, showing them how to move through the story and build up a character.

As the two started raiding, they spent even more time together. While learning strategies they talked over Discord voice chat, and even on days when they didn't log in, they checked in on each other.

Before long, the Raid Teacher had become someone close that they talked to every day.

Becoming a Real-Life Couple

The two reportedly met in person for the first time in November 2023. The poster went to a friend's birthday party, and the other person happened to be meeting friends in Seoul that same day.

Once they found out the two spots were only three subway stops apart, they met up on their own and had a beer. They talked about games and music and had a great time, and after a few more meetings they became a couple.

✦ From First Date to Wedding Prep

On their first official date, the other person reportedly said, “I'm going to marry you, noona.” (The Sorceress from earlier is a man, and the Mokoko Artist is a woman.)

True to those words, the two introduced themselves to both families and prepared for the wedding.

In May 2025, they signed a contract for their ceremony at a wedding expo, and on May 11, 2026, the poster shared on Lost Ark Inven that their wedding was coming up that Saturday.

A relationship that started with pushing through the story and learning Raid strategies in the game had turned into real wedding preparations.

A Hack-and-Slash MMORPG Across Arkesia

✦ Lost Ark at a Glance

The basics before the details

Public service began

Lost Ark is a quarter-view hack-and-slash MMORPG developed by Smilegate RPG.

Quarter view is a perspective that looks down on the screen from above at an angle, letting you see where your character and enemies are at a glance and decide how to move and use skills. In Korea, public service began on November 7, 2018.

Players travel across Arkesia, follow each continent's story, and set out on an adventure to find the lost Ark while standing against the demon forces. It isn't a game that only stresses combat.

Between the beautiful scenery that changes with each continent, getting around by ship, sailing and island exploration, there's a wide range of content to enjoy.

When you create a character, just pick a class based on your combat style.

There are many class families, including Warrior, Martial Artist, Gunner, Mage, Assassin and Specialist, and within each family, every class uses a completely different weapon and fighting style.

Berserkers unleash powerful blows with a greatsword, while Gunlancers hold the front line with a shield and lance and protect their allies.

Gunslingers swap between a pistol, shotgun and rifle to control distance, and Sorceresses hit wide areas with fire, lightning and ice magic.

Bards back up allies by playing instruments, and Artists create paintings and illusions with a brush that provide healing and protection. Every class has a different skill set and combat rhythm, so there's fun in raising a character to match the feel you want.

After you've raised your main, raising an alt of a different class can feel like playing a completely different game. With so many classes, balance sometimes becomes a point of debate, but whichever class you pick, you can have plenty of fun.

Raids Only Clear When You Work Together

Lost Ark's combat content is divided by growth stage and purpose. Chaos Dungeon is a hunting-style activity where you sweep up swarms of monsters and earn growth materials.

Guardian Raid is closer to boss hunting, where you track down a giant Guardian, work out its attack patterns and take it down. And Raid is content where multiple players learn a boss's attack tells and unique mechanics and clear it together.

In particular, some patterns can only be cleared if party members stand in set positions or act at the same time.

✦ Raid Party Roles

Who does what in a Raid

Dealers
• Deal damage to the boss
Supporters
• Back up the party
• Bard, Paladin and Artist
• Healing, shields and attack buffs

Raid parties move as a mix of dealers, who deal damage to the boss, and supporters, who back up the party. Bards, Paladins and Artists help the party fight with healing, shields and attack-boosting effects.

Moments when you watch which way the boss is attacking and avoid danger zones matter too, and party mechanics require everyone to sync positions and actions.

It's been about eight years since launch, so there are a lot more hardcore veterans too, and Raids have gotten a lot harder than they used to be.

So if you're taking on a Raid for the first time, you're better off learning the boss's attack order and mechanics from skilled party members.

✦ Beyond Combat

Other things to do in Lost Ark

✔ Guild activities: Regular get-togethers to run content with Guild members
✔ Trade Skills: Gather wood and ore, or go fishing
✔ Stronghold: Place buildings for crafting and research
✔ Sailing and islands: Explore and look for collectibles

Even if you're not big on combat content, there's plenty to enjoy, like Guild activities, Trade Skills, decorating your Stronghold, and sailing and island exploration.

With Trade Skills, you can gather wood and ore or fish, and in your Stronghold you place buildings to handle crafting and research. You might get together with your Guild regularly to run content, or wander the islands looking for collectibles.

And some days you just chat with friends in town. So while MMORPGs in general have far more male players, Lost Ark is known for being quite popular with female players too.

Lost Ark Shows Up at Weddings, Too

✦ Wedding Plans, Lost Ark Style

What the poster prepared

Rings and earrings
A ring, a guard ring and earrings
Meal tickets
Lost Ark themed
Venue music
The game's background music
Nickname for the girlfriend
“My own little Bard”

A story about a couple who met in Lost Ark and prepared for a wedding was posted this fall, too. On October 11, 2026, a player posted on Inven that they were one week away from getting married to the girlfriend they met in Lost Ark.

The two usually played together, and the poster said they prepared a ring, a guard ring and earrings. They also said the meal tickets would be Lost Ark themed and that the venue music would be filled with the game's background music.

The poster calls their girlfriend “my own little Bard.”

It's the story of a party member from Arkesia who became the closest person outside the game, too. Maybe it'll turn out to be your story someday. Why not give Lost Ark a try? Hehe♡

That's all for this post. See you next time.
